Portraits for NHS Heroes

In 2020, at the height of the Covid pandemic, acclaimed portrait Artist Tom Croft began a campaign through Instagram matching portrait artists with NHS workers in the front line against the virus. It was an opportunity for artists to make a small gesture of gratitude by painting portraits for free.

I was fortunate enough to match up and paint 10 portraits.

Work, Art and Health
A Journey through Medicine

I was delighted to give permission for one my Portraits for NHS Heroes paintings to be included in Work, Art and Health by Dr Paul J. Nicholson OBE. This beautifully produced and thought-provoking book brings together 100 works of art spanning centuries, each accompanied by an essay exploring the relationship between work, health and society. With a foreword by Professor Sir Anthony Newman Taylor CBE, the book offers a unique perspective on occupational medicine through the lens of art. To have my work appear as part on an important and carefully curated collection such as this is a privilege and quite humbling.
